A message for those I represent in Bishop’s Hull
The elections currently taking place are for the new Taunton Parish (Town) Council, with polling day tomorrow, 4 May.
There has been a great deal of understandable confusion about this election in Bishop’s Hull. Many of you have contacted me to ask why you have not received a polling card or postal vote.
To clarify, Bishop’s Hull is not within the boundary of the new Taunton Parish (Town) Council and is therefore not taking part in this election. The same applies to other neighbouring villages, such as Trull.
I have to say, that it is very encouraging to hear from so many of you wanting to vote, showing that in Bishop’s Hull there is a real wish to be engaged in local politics.
In summary, Bishop’s Hull continues to be represented by its own Parish Council. The next elections in which Bishop’s Hull residents are expected to participate will be the next General Election, whenever it is called, followed by the Somerset Council elections in May 2027.
