I’m excited to announce a brand-new “Pothole Preservation Initiative” launching this April! After years of accidental road features appearing across Somerset, it’s been decided to officially protect them as part of our cultural heritage.
Each pothole will now be carefully maintained to ensure optimal depth, splash radius, and unexpected steering challenges. Select premium potholes may even receive commemorative plaques and guided walking tours (weather dependent, of course).
Drivers are encouraged to slow down and fully appreciate these handcrafted road sculptures. Cyclists, I’d recommend a spirit of adventure. Pedestrians, enjoy the spontaneous fountains after rainfall.
For those wishing to get involved, you can now nominate your favourite pothole for “Hole of the Month.” Winners will be celebrated for their outstanding contribution to local character.
